#Life – My Baby Sister’s Wedding.

So another month has gone by and I only seem to have posted once. Well I have been busy doing other things that blogging seems to be taking a step back from priority. This weekend I am packing and getting ready to go to Connecticut and New York for my baby sister’s wedding. There is a possibility that I maybe livestreaming it for a few friends that seem to be curious as to why the wedding is going to cost so much. There is also the chance that I will be blogging about it as well, if my mother doesn’t have me running errands 24 hours a day each day of the wedding.

I also think this will be the last wedding my family will have since I do not forsee my brother and my other sister really deciding to get married any time soon.

We will be on the road Saturday morning and getting there around Sunday afternoon. If all goes according to plan that is. To those that are wondering why would I live stream a wedding? Well because it’s not your typical Christian/American wedding. This is a Cambodian traditional wedding, and a lot of shit goes into it. It’s usually about 3-5 days long and OMG you barely get any rest time in between the ceremonies.

Not sure how many will be interested but if you are I will post something up about going livestream on twitter, but if you are not then that’s fine I’ll just stream it up for the few friends that are.

#Games – Consuming my life the past two months

After I had finished Orcs Must Die, I played Mass Effect 3. Of course I didn’t have a ME2 save so I got a shitty game play experience. Although not so shitty since I got the ending where Shepard lives. So to experience the game fully my husband bought me Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 on the PC from Origin. Then I just remembered how my husband detest playing Mass Effect (ONE) because of the Mako mechanics. I was in for a slow long hard grind.

I started with Mass Effect (ONE) and just was like, “OMG it’s not as pretty as Mass Effect 3 but whatever just play through it! Just DO IT! Bear with the graphics that isn’t as awesome as it is now. Remember this was made five years ago.” So I stuck with it. Until I got to the first Mako mission, where I had to find Liara. My teeth never hurt so much after driving around in the Mako for an hour. Seriously, I was driving for an hour, critical mission failures three times at three different points. This is when I decided I hate the Mako. 80% of the game is driving this stupid vehicle. So much stress to drive this stupid thing. All I can think about is how the squadmates are dealing with riding in this thing. I mean it flips over turns upside down and sometimes stays upside down until you throttle the jet boosters. Takes forever to regen the barrier for the stupid thing. I would site for 10 mins waiting for the barriers shields to regenerate to full.

I went paragon on my first play-through of the game. Saved Wrex, saved Kirrahe, let Ashely die cause fucking hell I can’t stand Ashely’s attitude to aliens. It’s so racist, or I guess in this case so xenophobic. I wanted to punch her in the face everytime she says something about “this is an Alliance ship why have those aliens on it.” Boot to the head bitch! I guess it’s the same way when guys play this game and they let Kaiden die. I don’t know. So again, saved Wrex, saved Kirrahe, let Ashely die, romanced Kaiden, I was a bitch to Liara. Little pansy priss that can’t take a mind (raping) melding so easily.

Then I saved the Council.

Then it ends and I’m thinking wait doesn’t it save? Cause it didn’t. Again first time I played it so I don’t know what is to happen. So there started to play Mass Effect 2. I was able to import my Mass Effect file and yay the game starts. While I played the game and get deeper and deeper I was like fuck I hate this Jacob character. I mean totally hate him. The personality the character background and his angst against his father. DO NOT LIKE. SO TOTALLY LOATHE and the further along I play the game and a conversation comes up with this character I just want to punch him in the face if he was like physically real right in front of me, and then telling Tali to say hi to EDI the ships AI was like egging on a confrontation considering the Quarian’s past history with their own made AI the Geth. That was a douchebag move Jacob.

I can deal with Miranda, she had a bit of an attitude though, but I can deal with her. After the first mission first thing I did was get my buddy Garrus. HAHAHA! Cause in Mass Effect (one) I was a vanguard and my most used squadmates was Garrus and Wrex. Cause for some reason I never die with those two on my team. I tried Garrus and Kaiden but Kaiden freaking dies so much when I had him in the team. Then that caused me to die cause Kaiden was dead and not shooting shit. So got Garrus, then Mordin then Grunt (who’s so freaking adorable for a Krogan) and so on and so on.

Went to Horizon met Kaiden, and boom he became a douche. So I was like “what the fuck Kaiden, we get to boom boom in my room and you think I was pretending to be dead all this time? Da FUQ! I’d put my boot in your face if this game would let me.”

Then I went did the rest of the missions got more people, and then LOYALTY missions. Most so easy.  Also got DLC characters Zaeed and Kasumi so yeah, expand the storyline further. Well starting with Kasumi’s loyalty mission, only me and her as squadmates. Bummer, I gotta fight shit with just one other squad mate instead of the trinity. Of course gave me a new casual outfit. =D Shot a vase and made the crime boss mad! Whoops, let me take down all your guards and minions while I shoot my way to the helipad. At the end made Kasumi keep the data.

Zaeeds mission, I guess either way you do it you get his loyalty. Hubby stopped to save the people which made Zaeed ex-partner escape and he had to save Zaeed from something that fell on him and pinned him down. I however did not save people, and let Zaeed get his revenge. He burned his ex-partner to death. Why have I seen that scene somewhere before?

Samara’s mission, not a lot of gun fight which is alright needed a break from pressing the trigger button so many times. Mornith dies which is fine because I didn’t seem to care too much for an Ardat Yakshi on the ship that can kill you by mind fucking you.

Thane’s mission, not a lot of gun fight either. Just a lot of sneaking around. It was kind of boring. Of course this leads the way into romancing Thane. Did not do that.

Grunt’s mission fun, killed the thresher maw, turned Uvenk into meat.

Mordin’s mission, so… much… talking. Saved Genohpage cure data saved Maelon’s life.

Jack’s mission, watched and listened to all recordings, paragon interrupt and let her look around before she blew the place up.

Tali’s mission, saved her father’s reputation with a Paragon select. Although I am tempted to see the Renegade select, unless it’s the same. I’ll be doing that in my current Renegade playthrough.

Jacob’s mission, urg, so boring so lame, so angsty. I am all up for angst and whatnot and I do care for the occasional emo persona (aka Cloud Strife, Sephiroth) but this character is just so lame to me. I have no care for him. I just tried to do it quickly as possible. My discussion with some of my friends on Jacob’s character came to the conclusion that Jacob is the typical black stereotype, of “daddy not being there” for them etc. I just think he was generally poorly made in character developement.

Miranda’s loyalty mission, was alright, a lot of shooting. My favorite part of the loyalty mission is the renegade interrupt where you shoot down the crates and it explodes. The look on one of the salarian’s face when his buddy came flying right past him to his death. You can see in the video below (not mine) at 1:45. I laugh at that look every time.

Garrus’s mission, paragon everything. Best part when Garrus headbutts Harkin after Shep prevents him from shooting him. “I didn’t shoot him.”  Video below at 2:55. =D After this you’re able to romance Garrus. Of course I did. Bing! So of course the whole romance Garrus thing because this awkward conversation and it’s so adorable to me. Although could do without the creep face smile from Fem Shep.

Legions mission just right before the crew gets kidnapped by the Collectors. Easy, rewrote the heretics, Paragon it’s conflict with Tali and saved the day yet again.

Did the DLC Lair of the Shadow Broker, STILL do not like Liara.

Collectors Base, everyone LIVES!  Destroyed base and on to Mass Effect 3, and this time with a better storyline than the default.

Although when Kaiden asked in the hospital if there was something between Garrus and my Shep I was thinking, “you know back on Horizon you were a dick, what the fuck yo.”

Choice to re-romance Kaiden or Garrus, I chose Garrus, cause Kaiden you fucked it up in ME2. Eat my foot.

Paragon most everything, and this Kai Leng character seems useless to me. I was then told that he was suppose to be the antagonist to Shepard. I think the Reapers are antagonist enough along with the Illusive Man and Cerberus, and why a freaking ninja? Did the Bioware empolyees at character development watch too much Narutard or something to make Kai Leng a freaking ninja? Seriously. NINJA? /SMH

So with all that done with all surviving characters form ME2 I was happy with the storyline in ME3, unlike when I played it the first time and got a boring generically defaulted storyline from where you didn’t play ME and ME2.

Yeah so this is what was taking up my life for the last two months, and why I haven’t blogged much because of it. Then I played it on the 360 because I wants my 360 Achievements. HAhaha.

Then Diablo 3 was released and so that is to be left for the next blog post.

#Gaming – Orcs Must Die / Mass Effect 3

A while ago I finally fixed my video card problem and with that  done I decided to take up the free game offer that came with the video card. The game was Orcs Must Die. Of course I thought it was another boring game and then when I downloaded it from Steam and started playing it the one game that came across my mind was Plants vs Zombies. This was almost like that. However it was in a 3D  environment and it was much more challenging to play. I ended up loving this game after the first three levels, then when I got to the harder levels I was thinking to myself, “holy fuck I’m not going to beat this level, it’s too hard!”

Took a little practice and restarts to be able to get through the levels, of course I had to make sure I used the correct traps so that I would have the advantage. I’ve already bought one DLC and may buy the other two DLC later on. I just wished I had known about this game sooner than months and months later after it was released. I’m sure my husband was a bit annoyed that I spent a lot of my time the past week playing this game, but it’s almost addicting. I also like the theme song when the start of the orcs raid on the dungeons to the portal. So I do love this game. I’m actually glad I got it for free, compliments from my XFXForce.com video card.

So my husband got Mass Effect 3 on the release week of the game. Since he played the first two he had to get the third. He spent the whole probably two weeks playing this game and then was upset that he imploded the Milky Way galaxy cause that was what his ending was. So he then spent a couple of weeks playing through Mass Effect and Mass Effect 2 so he could get a better ending in Mass Effect 3. This past weekend he’s been on ME3 trying to do all quests he could. I’ve just been sitting back and watching him play. Then ask questions on why this and this and this happened.

Monday was our 7 year  anniversary and I think he got annoyed with me asking him questions and then bought me Mass Effect 3 on EA Origin. Although the truth was he wanted to do Mutliplayer so he can get his military readiness higher so he could get a good ending. Of course he just recently found out that you cant multiplay cross platform so I guess that  won’t work out, but I guess it just made him happy that I started playing the game and didn’t stop til 2 am when he got it for me. Can’t stay I don’t like the game or say that I like it either, but the elements of a Shooter RPG is different. The  first shooter RPG I think I’ve played, Parasite Eve. Then the improvement on Final Fantasy VII: Dirge of Cerebus.

So that is what I’ve been doing  this past month. Also I  started a new art piece. =o

#Beauty – @BeautyArmy May and June Reviews

So this is my second beauty subscription, the first being myGlam and I am pretty impressed with this one because for $12  it gives you the option to pick six items of what you want to sample each month. It also gives you the option to skip a month or have the Beauty Army gurus selected the items for you.  I joined up about a couple of months before I was able to subscribe and choose my samples because when I first heard of it the subscription was all filled up. So I got on the waiting list and waited. May was when I was able to purchase as subscription and start my pick.  I was pretty excited about the pick with brand names from CoverFX to NYX and many others I’ve heard of and others that I haven’t, but that is the beauty about subscription based beauty samples. You get to try out new brands and products.

When my first box arrived it wasn’t packed in bubble wrap but a cardboard fold up around the actual beauty army box.  Hold ups pretty good in the mail and the actual box is reusable, in my case I can used it to store a lot of useless junk I keep around my desk. Although mostly thinking about using the box to store my makeup brushes now since it can fit in there. The inner lining of the box is designed with pink camouflage to adhere to the beauty army theme and I do like camouflage myself. =D

My choice of May samples consist of Karuna facial cloth mask for acne prone skinBabor JetLag CreamMyMix foundation in Medium 02, Befine Night Cream with Cocoa and Rice Millet, CoverFx ClearPrep Primer, and CellCeutical PhotoDefense SPF 55+.

In my choice of June samples I have chosen, CLiCKR Acne spot treatmentYoungBlood Mineral PrimerNYX Mascra in Pin-UpIndie Lee Moisturizing Oil in LavendarApothederm Stretch Mark Cream, and a surprise sample which is the Indie Lee Vegan Body Wash.

I won’t go in depth about each product in his post but I will say I have been using the Befine Nightly facial cream and the primers a lot since I got it. Also I am in love with the NYX Pin-Up mascara.  I have tried the Badore Jetlag cream and that seems to work pretty well. The MyMix Foundation I like because it matches my skin tone and I always have such a hard time finding foundation that matches my skin tone. The ones I end up getting tends to be too light, too pink or does not match my neck. I haven’t tried some of the other samples yet but I am getting around to trying them out eventually.

All and all BeautyArmy is a beauty subscription if you want to actually KNOW what you are trying out rather than be surprised 100% of the time. Or you can have them surprise you with their pick choices according to your beauty profile. Either way I would probably continue this subscription for a while, and may support them buy purchasing from their shop. I know I will probably buy the Befine Night Cream soon. =D

Resident Evil: THe Mercenaries 3D

So the past few weeks I’ve been playing Resident Evil the Mercenaries on my 3DS, which is probably one of the cause of my procrastination on projects I’ve been trying to work on. I’ve gotten the 3DS about a couple of months ago and have to say it’s probably my favorite handheld system I’ve owned now. The only thing that I dislike about it is that the 3DS price drop that’s happening in a couple of weeks. This kinda makes me mad but then again we can afford to buy my daughter her own 3DS when it comes time to that. All the other DS has been foiled by her little hands. The place where you insert the game cartridges don’t work anymore due to pins being bent out of shape so it doesn’t connect with the cards conductor fields. Those DS have seen a good long life span though and has worked for all the time we’ve owned it until a few weeks ago. She has been careful with our 3DS lately so maybe we’ll consider getting one for her at a later time.

Anyway, my view on Resident Evil The Mercenaries 3D is this, quite different than normal Resident Evil games. Although I haven’t played any of the newer Resident Evil since after Code Veronica X, but I do try to follow the series as much as possible. If I’m a fan I should keep up on the series info right? Although after playing this I have been debating on getting the other RE games to just play. So if I read right (from the review sources and wikis) RETM3D is like mercernary mode in RE5, which I’ve not played so can’t take my word on that. The thing that irked me about this game is that after you finish a level it doesn’t automatically takes you to the next level after you clear it. No, you have to go to the level’s list and choose the level you want to do. VERY ANNOYING. Honestly I can understand that if you’ve not cleared a level you stay on that level until you clear but if you have cleared it you have to go into the level menu and choose the level you want to move on to next. I didn’t like that, but I dealt with it.

You get three default characters which are Jill Valentine, HUNK, and Chris Redfield. I’ve played with Chris most of the time (Redfield fangirl) and the other characters are unlockable Claire being the easiest or one of the first to be unlocked. In order to clear a mission you have to get B rank or higher. Ranks goes in order form highest to lowest. SS, S, A, B, C, D. The ranks SS, S, A and B, will give you a star in your map level showing that you’ve cleared this level and can move on to the next level or unlock hidden levels. You fail a mission if you run out of time before you kill a major boss, or if you die. You gain points by the amount time you have left after a major boss level, or you get high combo points. I think my highest combo points was 150. I’m sure there’s higher but that was my highest I believe to have gotten.

Once you unlock characters and have completed all 5 mission levels you are able to use each characters weapons. At least that’s what I’ve read. I’ve cheated and unlocked the characters weapon swap with play coins. I guess it’s cheating but is it really if you’re allowed to do that? Yeah, I learned about unlocking the character weapon swap when I was stuck on 3-5 trying to kill the B.O.W and failing miserably. That’s when I learn of the magic play coins! So for the past few weeks Chris has been running around with Jills or Rebecca’s weapons config. I wish that we were able to custom pick our favorite weapon into the weapon slot though. That would be great. Machine gun, magnum, and shotguns! Haha.

There is DUO mode where you can play with other players to complete very difficult stages you couldn’t possibly think of doing yourself. This is how I finished my first round in the game to get the end credits and unlock the EX level. The EX level just gave me a headache at times but I enjoyed running around like a headless chicken trying to get familiarized with the maps. The characters have two sets of outfits. Their default outfits which you play with from the start and the alternate outfits which may give more stat boost or less stat boost depending on the character and their outfits. These outfits are unlocked by getting certain ranks on level maps or getting medals.

Medals are like achievements, and some are hard to get than others. There’s 50 medals to get and some medals unlock skills that can be used to customize your characters ability to survive in the game. Skills have enhancements on what your character can do. Some skills can be equipped to boost abilities of herbs to heal your character some boost your weapon’s attack damage or handling abilities. Some skills if level up to it’s max will have hidden abilities that helps out the character, and then may unlock other skills that can be used. The skills have 3 levels and you get skill points after finishing a level map. If you die during a level map mission you get no skills. Sucks yeah, but that is how the game works.

The game play you can choose it to be OTS (over the shoulder) or FPS (First Person Shooter) mode. I prefer the OTS mode cause I’m not a big fan of the FPS mode thing. Unless it’s CoD. I’ve played this game a few hours on end and mostly in my bed during the nights where I can’t sleep, like probably tonight after I post this up I will open up my 3Ds and play the game again. I’ve played most of the game up until level 4-4 solo, and then learned about Duo mode can help you unlock levels as well so I played the rest of the levels in DUO mode, some repeating the old levels just to get a higher score. It took a while to do considering that I have to go through over 50 DUO modes to unlock the EX level.

The EX level were a bit challenging considering I got paired up with people that stupidly walk in front of executioners, garradors and crazy maijni’s with chain saws, but there were players that wanted to try to get the clear so they can move on to the next level and that was a pleasurable experience. The only downfall with the DUO mode is that there’s barely no way you can communicate with your partner except with the in-game emotes like whistling and the occasional “thank you” for saving their asses when they’re in a pickle. There has been a couple of times that I was paired up with some people that liked to grief you in the game. They equip their characters with the rocket launcher or the grenade launcher and try to seek you out and kill you purposely. Obviously I think this is the flaw in the game, cause you can’t take damage by your partner’s bullets but you can take damage by their launchers. It’s a very terrible thing but I guess the developers wanted it to be that way. I’m sure the people that does the “griefing” thinks that it’s funny and have nothing else to do with their gaming time but ruin some people’s fun. Things like that makes the game less enjoyable, but here is hoping there’s less of these assholes out there and more gamers that like to see a level get completed.

My experience with this game I enjoyed it very much, I have continuously played this game almost day in and day out and my goal is to get all skill and all medals. So far I’ve got 13 medals to get and about 10 more skills to unlock. It’s a stress reliever to me so when I’m stress out, it’s most likely once everyday, I’ll turn on my 3DS and kill zombies.
