#Music – WHAT THE FLUCK?! >.<

April 19th, 2012

Seriously music is not what it use to be. Especially when shit like this is put on youtube and is getting millions of views for being so goddamn awful. It’s probably a huge troll attempt but goodness the things people do to get their fifteen minutes of fame. I didn’t really cared for Rebecca Black’s – “Friday” but at least Rebecca Black can actually sing. These two girls, monotone all the way through this horrific self centered song, and if people are actually buying this song off iTunes then they are supporting crappy music.

I know I can’t hold a note for the life of me but I’m not going around making music videos of myself to a terrible edited song with bad lyrics. There’s just so much better people out there that can put out quality music than this piece of rubbish. Feel free to click on the link if you dare to listen and watch. Now I’m going to go beat the cat with a Twizzler.

#Tech – Video Card and Dual Monitors.

April 16th, 2012

So a few weeks ago I had posted that about my dying video card and getting a new one in it’s place. This past week I’ve been trying to get the dual monitor to work on the video card as soon as my husband was able to get me a HDMI to DVI cable converter. I got excited and hoped I can be able to use my tablet again and when I plugged it in and set it up a crap load of technical headaches came pouring in. I had spent a good four hours again trying to get the dual monitor to work to find out that I have to install Catalyst. So I tried to install Catalyst. Over, and over, and over again. It got to the point where I went and ticketed customer support for the video card and while their support staff was doing all they can to help me get the dual monitor set up working, nothing they suggested was progressing me to be able to use my tablet at it’s max resolution.

I do appreciate the customer service for putting up with my frustration and we went back and forth on the ticket for the whole week trying to get this figured out. So I went to do the single monitor thing this weekend to figure out what is going on. Apparently I didn’t uninstall all of the old NVIDIA drivers so it wouldn’t clash with ATI. Of course I tried to uninstall but it wouldn’t uninstall. Let’s see how many times I can use the word “uninstall” in a sentence.

With that in mind I decided to do a fresh reinstall of Windows, (because this current install of windows seemed buggy as heck for some reason) and with the fresh install of Windows I was able to install Catalyst. After this was done I plugged in my Wacom Cintiq and boom the screen went blank for a moment and both screens fixed itself to it’s max resolution. I was able to have my tablet resolution to max. Frustrating cause I had to reinstall my OS to make this video card work properly and to the way I need it to work, but at least my computer won’t be bogged down with any useless things that I don’t hardly use. Although it wasn’t bogged down in the first place.

Just glad to have my tablet back and that I can work on my comics, and art work again.

#Beauty – @myGlam Bag April

April 14th, 2012

I finally was able to get my first MyGlam Bag subscription service. I’ve been wanting to try it out for a while although I was a little wary of the products since the last two months bag received mixed reviews. I got an email stating that subscriptions are open again and well I decided to just try, and hope for the best of it. So I received my bag today and it felt kind of puny although well I didn’t expect it to be a big bag because of the previews that @myglam twitter had posted.

If you don’t want to read through the whole review just scroll all the way down to watch the four minute video review. My first video review. Urg.

Here below is what I had received. The bag is a very nice metalliccaly pink color, which I do like, although I don’t know if I have much use of the bag probably for putting my makeup brushes in. Actually I just thought of what I could use the bag for. My contact lens and eye drops. =D

So this is what was in the bag. Urban Decay 24/7 Gliding Eye pencil, in Woodstock, which is a pink metallic color. I generally don’t use any color eyeliner besides black and blue, but I wouldn’t mind giving this a try. It’s a very nice pink color.

Next product is the Dermstore Lip Quench, basically a lipgloss or lip moisturizing treatment. It’s got a very pleasant fruity smell to it but the product itself is a bit thick so I wouldn’t want to put a lot of this on. I’m going to try this as a nightly lip regimen because I’m looking for a new lip conditioner and my favorite lip conditioner is discontinued so yeah. Will give this a try and see if it does any good.

Then we have two myGlam brushes. One eyeshadow brush and one angled (eyeliner) brush. Bristles are soft and packed to be stiff although I haven’t tried it yet I can’t give much of a review on it. Probably in the near future.

The last product is the false eyelashes by All Belle and it looks like a Chinese or Taiwanese product. This was the one product I was looking forward to in this months bag although once I opened it up the lashes quality made me a little disappointed. The lashes felt plastic, I don’t know if I like the plastic feel but the lashes though look natural. Although the band looks like it’s threaded so this is going to be an interesting try. I’ll have a proper review of these lashes when I give them a try. Probably next week or the weekend of my anniversary I’ll have a proper review.

So yeah that is my review for the April 2012 myGlam bag. My first bag subscription service and below is my video review of it. Which is my first video review. I sound like a dork. I hate my voice. XD

#Beauty – Tresemme Split Remedy

April 13th, 2012
Since last year when I started to bleach my hair blonde I started to see my hair starting to look damaged about four months ago. I’ve tried to every product I can get my hands on to help fix the problem. This past week I got Tresemme’s Spilt Remedy shampoo, conditioner and leave in hair conditioner, and here are some results of the usage.

Before I go into the images of the results I would like to say that the Split Remedy shampoo is amazing to me. I had some tangles in my hair and when I used the shampoo it seemed to have detangle and I didn’t expect that. I was looking for an alternative detangling shampoo that wasn’t a kids shampoo and I find this to be it.

The picture below is about the first week of using the trio hair care product after some brushing. Doesn’t look like much of a change at first, and you can see the fly aways.

Picture above from April 5th 2012

Three days later, this is what my hair looked like. Fly away seemed to be less vacant but there are still some as you can see below. This is the second use of it since I wash my hair every other day, but you can see there has been some improvement.

Picture above from April 8th 2012

So I decided to continue to use it and this weeks improvement, after I brushed. The pictures below are from April 11th 2012. Very little fly-aways and looks soft and smooth. The look of having split ends aren’t very vacant here, but I do like the results the Split Remedy line has shown me. However I wouldn’t just use this to expect all my split ends to disappear. My expectations were for it to be less noticeable, and my expectations were granted. I will be alternating use of the Split Remedy line with my Herbal Essence Hello Hydration shampoo and conditioner every other wash. Of course the bottom two images are also with help from Dove Hair Therapy Oil, which I will do a review of later.

I am going to have to buy another Split Remedy leave in conditioner because I tend to use that every day. I think I’m about halfway through my current one. The scent of the the line is very floraly sweet. The lather from the shampoo detangles and afterwards your hair feels soft. I’m actually glad to finally find a shampoo and conditioner that works to reduce the look of split ends.

Alice Madness Returns with creepy dolls.

April 10th, 2012

I love Alice in Wonderland, it’s one of my favorite stories as a child. However this Wonderland is not your typical Lewis Carrol or Disney watered down version of the story.

Wonderland has been corrupted and the black slimy oozes that spawn monsters called Ruins are making themselves comfy. On top of that pirate ghosts, red eyed teapots and creepy deformed dolls that suddenly lose their clothing when you shoot hot tea at them. Most likely this is a very late review of Alice Madness Returns, but better late than never?

I do have to say that my husband had made a comment when I finally finished this game.

Husband: “I don’t know how you can play that? That game is way more creepier than what I play.”
Me: “What? Silent Hill?”
Husband: “Yes.”

I don’t see how it’s creepier than Silent Hill. When I sit down and watch my husband play Silent Hill games, I start seeing things in the dark because my imagination tends to run away with me. For a few years I would convince myself that pyramid head can’t go up stairs so I would be safe whenever I am at the top of the steps. Yes I am a grown woman freaking out over such nonsense. Again my imagination does get the best of me.

What I find creepy about this game is Chapter 5 levels of the game. It had to be baby dolls. If you guys remember the movie Child’s Play, then you would understand why I can get so freak out over this chapter level. If you haven’t seen that movie then you are probably too young to know what I am talking about and there fore I would ask you to watch that movie. You would probably have a different opinion about baby dolls toys afterwards. I can’t look at a cabbage patch kid without thinking about that movie.

The start of the game started out all calm and serene then as you progress through the game and through the story it gets more dark and sinister. Of course getting to the Queensland level just made me want to cringe at the sound of Alice stepping on things that sound so gross and slimy, but sure doesn’t help when you are being chased by the Executioner. I think I made more freaked out weird sounds whenever I come across this guy. Although I have to say it was my favorite cut scene in the game. When Alice ate the cake and grew to a giant. If you’re not familiar with it here’s a video clip.

The game play didn’t take long to get use to. Although I had to remember how to play it so I had to restart my game from the beginning to relearn the controls and remember what weapons I had. It wasn’t that big of a deal anyway, but I did get through the first two chapters of the game faster than before, although still missing a couple of memories which I will go through the game again and replay it to get all memories. I’ve been trying to hunt everything I could to get all achievements possible, but so far I’m missing 5% of the game.

Some how or another this game is classified as survival horror which I don’t see how it’s a survival horror. I think more platform horror than anything because of jumping from one platform to another, and I don’t even remember what difficulty the game was played on. I want to think it’s on normal difficulty because I usually play on normal when I first get any game so I could unlock the hardmode if it needed to be unlock.

Graphics were beautiful, except in rare occasions you would see some blinking when you move the camera to get a better view of things. I seen it more on the textures in Chapter 4 than I do anywhere else. It’s not that bad that it’s all over the game. Just bits here and there on rare occasions.

There’s bonus levels which are I guess puzzle levels, in which you fight through some waves of monsters, or you answer a riddle, or you do something like roll a doll head through obstacles. I do not like the doll head bonus stage. I spent 30 minutes one night trying to get through it and it gave me such a headache. I think that bonus stage should have been kept out of the game cause I DID NOT LIKE IT! Well that is just my own personal opinion that is. I hate rolling doll heads.

Sure enough I believe I spent three days playing this game with breaks and well I might spend another three more days trying to get as much achievements as possible before I try to get the original American McGee’s Alice achievements. Although a little disappointed to be playing this game and doing so many puzzles that the only actual boss fight is at the end of the story.

I do like this game so I do recommend that you try it out. If you are a fan of Alice in Wonderland no matter who portrays it.
