#Beauty – @myGlam Bag April

Saturday, April 14th, 2012

I finally was able to get my first MyGlam Bag subscription service. I’ve been wanting to try it out for a while although I was a little wary of the products since the last two months bag received mixed reviews. I got an email stating that subscriptions are open again and well I decided to just try, and hope for the best of it. So I received my bag today and it felt kind of puny although well I didn’t expect it to be a big bag because of the previews that @myglam twitter had posted.

If you don’t want to read through the whole review just scroll all the way down to watch the four minute video review. My first video review. Urg.

Here below is what I had received. The bag is a very nice metalliccaly pink color, which I do like, although I don’t know if I have much use of the bag probably for putting my makeup brushes in. Actually I just thought of what I could use the bag for. My contact lens and eye drops. =D

So this is what was in the bag. Urban Decay 24/7 Gliding Eye pencil, in Woodstock, which is a pink metallic color. I generally don’t use any color eyeliner besides black and blue, but I wouldn’t mind giving this a try. It’s a very nice pink color.

Next product is the Dermstore Lip Quench, basically a lipgloss or lip moisturizing treatment. It’s got a very pleasant fruity smell to it but the product itself is a bit thick so I wouldn’t want to put a lot of this on. I’m going to try this as a nightly lip regimen because I’m looking for a new lip conditioner and my favorite lip conditioner is discontinued so yeah. Will give this a try and see if it does any good.

Then we have two myGlam brushes. One eyeshadow brush and one angled (eyeliner) brush. Bristles are soft and packed to be stiff although I haven’t tried it yet I can’t give much of a review on it. Probably in the near future.

The last product is the false eyelashes by All Belle and it looks like a Chinese or Taiwanese product. This was the one product I was looking forward to in this months bag although once I opened it up the lashes quality made me a little disappointed. The lashes felt plastic, I don’t know if I like the plastic feel but the lashes though look natural. Although the band looks like it’s threaded so this is going to be an interesting try. I’ll have a proper review of these lashes when I give them a try. Probably next week or the weekend of my anniversary I’ll have a proper review.

So yeah that is my review for the April 2012 myGlam bag. My first bag subscription service and below is my video review of it. Which is my first video review. I sound like a dork. I hate my voice. XD

#Beauty – Tresemme Split Remedy

Friday, April 13th, 2012
Since last year when I started to bleach my hair blonde I started to see my hair starting to look damaged about four months ago. I’ve tried to every product I can get my hands on to help fix the problem. This past week I got Tresemme’s Spilt Remedy shampoo, conditioner and leave in hair conditioner, and here are some results of the usage.

Before I go into the images of the results I would like to say that the Split Remedy shampoo is amazing to me. I had some tangles in my hair and when I used the shampoo it seemed to have detangle and I didn’t expect that. I was looking for an alternative detangling shampoo that wasn’t a kids shampoo and I find this to be it.

The picture below is about the first week of using the trio hair care product after some brushing. Doesn’t look like much of a change at first, and you can see the fly aways.

Picture above from April 5th 2012

Three days later, this is what my hair looked like. Fly away seemed to be less vacant but there are still some as you can see below. This is the second use of it since I wash my hair every other day, but you can see there has been some improvement.

Picture above from April 8th 2012

So I decided to continue to use it and this weeks improvement, after I brushed. The pictures below are from April 11th 2012. Very little fly-aways and looks soft and smooth. The look of having split ends aren’t very vacant here, but I do like the results the Split Remedy line has shown me. However I wouldn’t just use this to expect all my split ends to disappear. My expectations were for it to be less noticeable, and my expectations were granted. I will be alternating use of the Split Remedy line with my Herbal Essence Hello Hydration shampoo and conditioner every other wash. Of course the bottom two images are also with help from Dove Hair Therapy Oil, which I will do a review of later.

I am going to have to buy another Split Remedy leave in conditioner because I tend to use that every day. I think I’m about halfway through my current one. The scent of the the line is very floraly sweet. The lather from the shampoo detangles and afterwards your hair feels soft. I’m actually glad to finally find a shampoo and conditioner that works to reduce the look of split ends.

So 12 more blog post before I reach 100 blog post!!! I need to start posting more useful stuff, but when I do get to my 100th post it’s going to be a giveaway! So those that are here for free stuff keep checking back for that 100 post. I need to figure out what to get for the giveaway soon, and how long will I run that giveaway. I could say run it for 100 days but that’s too long to wait, or just run it until I get 100 people to sign up for it. I need to make the prize extravagant or something awesome, of course again I shouldn’t be doing giveaways cause I am punk ass broke.

I will figure something out I just thought I post something about me reaching my 100th post soon. We’ll see what comes. Oh I suppose I need to start posting up art tutorials again. Yep that is what I am going to do, since this blog is suppose to be a well rounded blog that’s suppose to attract gamers, girls interested in circle lens and gyaru/ulzzang things, artist, and full time moms trying to keep it cool.

Oh yeah and also blog about food. That is if I go out to eat in other places than what I normally eat at.

Also I am going to work on a new blog layout. =D

Dying Video Card

Thursday, March 29th, 2012

So probably about five years ago or even less than that I got this new video card. The GeForce GT 9800. I forgot how many rams it had, but I do want to say it was like 512mb of ram. I can’t remember cause it was a while ago when I paid attention to it. I probably should have kept the box for reference. Anyway just last week that particular video card started to show signs of it dying. I mean my computer screen would show green streaks, or the whole screen would freeze up and not respond. I re-installed the video driver and that seemed to fix the problem for a little while. This past two days my video card just didn’t want to fix itself. So pretty much showing me that it’s on it’s last circuit. The screen would freeze up every time I load up the computer and well that would not do for me.

So my husband bought me a new video card. At first it was a Geforce GT 550 1GB. I opened it up and I found that it had a DVI and a VGA slot. Which was fine but I would have to pull the cables from my tablet out and find my VGA to DVI cable for the tablet and go through the whole process of pulling the cable around the desk to the tablet power unit and that would’ve been such a pain in the ass for me since I don’t have long arms. Anyway when I stated that the hubby said to just don’t put it in the computer and pack it back up and he’ll get another one. He sounded annoyed when he told me that so I just packed it back up.

He exchanged it the next day for a ATI Raedon R6670 2GB, for $50 more. So I spent that night for four hours trying to set up the graphics card. It was working the moment I installed it and then I used the CD to install the driver so I could get it back to my resolution. However when I restarted after the install the screen was black after I logged into my desktop and would not load anything else for 30 mins. At first I thought, hey it’s just lag loading like when I installed 50 fonts that one time, so I forced restarted the computer went into Safe Mode with Network and downloaded an updated driver and then installed it. Apparently it kept saying that it couldn’t find a detection driver or something which was pretty stupid. For four hours I spent restarting, rebooting, going to normal mode and then back to safe mode. Finally I just got so fed up I decided to do a system restore. Then I got to thinking, the last time I tried to do a system restore the computer couldn’t find a restore point. Luckily for me there was a system restore point of four days ago which was when the computer last worked before the dying graphics card.

So I did a system restore and everything went back to normal. I went and deleted my old drivers from the old video card an manually updated the current video driver through Device and Hardware settings. It seems the “Catalyst” program from ATI is the main source of the problems I had tonight cause I didn’t install it at all and I got the graphics driver working with the new video card. So in light of all this event the “Catalyst” program was too much of a headache to use to install the drivers. Seriously why is it such a pain in the ass? I never had this much problems with NVidia, and even people told me to get ATI cause they said it was a good graphics card brand and the things I had experienced tonight is probably the reasons why I stopped using ATI long ago.

All an all I got it to work with out having to use that dumb “Catalyst” program. Sadly though my laptop is defaulted to have the Catalyst program cause it’s pre-setup that way. Of course I don’t plan on using my laptop as a hardcore gaming laptop anyway. Not enought ram, or juice power to do so. Plus I do not want to push my laptop to the brink of explosion. I’m trying my best to make this laptop last a good long while because it’ll probably be another 2 or 3 years before I can replace it.

As for the new video card I probably will update later on a review of how it works with WoW and other games I play on my PC. I have logged onto WoW for 30 mins to test it out to make sure it was going to work fine and it seemed to runs smoothly after I reduced my graphic settings to something worth 60fps. I had to turn the settings in WoW to ultra to see how it looked and it was doing 30 FPS. Which isn’t really bad considering my old video card was doing 15 fps on ultra setting, but again I don’t want to push my new video card to hard. I want to make sure the video card can last for a good while so turned it down to a customizable setting that I always had it set as. Although I think I turned some of the stuff up one level, and to see it still give me 60 fps is all good to me.

Design:
Enlarging:
Color:

These design are the same design as the pink ones, although this is a bit more true to the color than the pink one where it looked more yellow than pink. The opinions I have on these are quite the same of the pink, minus the yellowy looking color. The design still looks like the EoS Flower series when worn though, and still gives that enlarging dolly eye effect.
